Juventus on the verge of signing Edinson Cavani?

Juventus are all set to launch a SHOCK bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani, according to the Daily Star.

Cavani, 28, joined the Ligue 1 champions from Napoli in 2013 for a reported £55 million fee, but has struggled to make an impact at the Parc des Princes over the last couple of years.

The Uruguayan forward has managed an impressive 18 league goals last season, but he seems set for the departure this summer with the Italian champions are favourites for his signature, according to the Star.

Furthermore, Bianconeri’s former manager Luciano Moggi believes that Cavani will replace Carlos Tevez, if he leaves Turin.

Moggi said as per the Star: “If he (Tevez) leaves, Cavani will arrive.

“If not, the Juve attack will not change.

“I think that the Matador (Cavani) can replace the Argentinian perfectly.”

Now it seems that the South American is close to joining the Old Lady, after the Daily Express reported that Tevez has agreed to rejoin Boca Juniors.
