Arsenal are preparing a shock summer move for Everton defender John Stones, according to The Metro.
The 19-year-old teenage defender has started his career at Barnsley, played 28 games for The Tykes before moving to Toffees in 2013 on a five-and-a-half-year deal. Since then, he established himself a key player in the Roberto Martinez‘s starting XI with his impressive 22 appearances this season.
In recent weekend 3-0 win over Arsenal at Goodison Park has alerted Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who is seems to be a long-term admirer of the defender.
It is understood that Wenger is keeping an eye on a young English centre-back till the end of the season as the Frenchman keen on Stones’ signature ahead of the summer transfer window.
Stones is capable of playing both right back and centre half with his powerful tackling skills, and these areas where Gunners want to strengthen.
