Dani Olmo Transfer News: Bayern Munich Plan January Move as Liverpool Are Alerted

Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing a January approach for Barcelona’s Dani Olmo, with Liverpool also informed of the Spain international’s possible availability, according to Fussball News. No formal bid has been made, but groundwork is said to be under way.

Barcelona’s Asking Price for Olmo

Olmo is contracted at Barcelona until June 2030, so the Catalans are under no pressure to sell. They do, however, need to raise funds to strengthen elsewhere, which could make them receptive to a serious proposal.

Barcelona would reportedly want a significant portion of any fee paid up front. Olmo’s market value is estimated at around €60million, yet the club are said to want €80million to €90million before negotiations begin. His €500million release clause is considered largely irrelevant.

Why Bayern and Liverpool Like Olmo

The 28-year-old can operate as an attacking midfielder or on either wing, giving managers valuable tactical flexibility. His close control in tight spaces and creativity between the lines would suit both clubs’ attacking systems.

Bayern are looking to add more invention in the final third during the winter window. Liverpool, meanwhile, are understood to be assessing the financial terms rather than rushing into a move. Olmo’s name is also being circulated among several leading European clubs by intermediaries.

Our Opinion on the Olmo Situation

Bayern look the more motivated suitor, and the Bundesliga champions have a history of acting decisively once a target is identified. Liverpool’s cautious approach feels sensible, as an €80million-plus fee is steep for a player valued at €60million.

January deals rarely come cheap, and Barcelona may well dig in and demand their full price. If they do, a summer move could be more realistic than a winter one. Either way, with several clubs reportedly sniffing around, this story looks set to run.
