Crystal Palace have allegedly preparing a £31.5m bid for Liverpool forward Christian Benteke after a bid of £25m rejected last week.
Palace boss Alan Pardew is considering to smash the club’s transfer record to lure the Belgian international to Selhurst Park, reports The Guardian.
The 25-year-old joined the Reds from Aston Villa last summer during the Brendan Rodgers tenure, but became a peripheral figure under current Reds boss Jurgen Klopp’s playing eleven.

The Eagles are said to have raised their efforts to bring the former Aston Villa star after missing out on Michy Batshuayi, who joined Chelsea on Sunday.
Benteke has scored 10 goals in 42 appearances last season, which has seen him slide down the pecking order.
