Chelsea are lining up a swoop for Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy in the wake of Jose Mourinho’s exit from Stamford Bridge, reports the Evening Standard.
The report claims that the reigning Premier League champions will attempt to lure the league’s top striker to the west London with a £30 million offer when the winter transfer window opens in next month.
The Blues had previously linked with the England international but Mourinho reportedly “wasn’t interested because he felt the 28-year-old striker didn’t suit his style of play”.
However Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri ruled out a sale of Vardy in the near future, claiming that he ‘didn’t have a price tag’.
Vardy has been sensational this season so far, scored 15 league goals in 16 games and have helped the Foxes to remain at the top of the table.
