Chelsea are lining up a swoop for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes during the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old joined the Magpies from Lyon in January and has impressed during his time at St James’ Park, contributing seven goals and three assists in 27 appearances in all competitions.
He has also been in impressive form during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring twice and providing two assists in 10 appearances in all competitions.
Guimaraes has a contract with Newcastle United until June 2026, but his future is now being called into question, with the Premier League champions Manchester City said to be showing an interest.
According to journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea have also earmarked Guimaraes as a possible addition, with the West Londoners keen to strengthen their midfield options at the midway point of the campaign.
The Brazil international has played a key role in the run of form that has seen the Tyneside outfit win four of their last six matches in the English top flight to reach the fourth position in the table.
