Gabriel Rajkovic is fast becoming one of the most talked-about teenagers in Norwegian football, with Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all keeping tabs on the Vålerenga starlet.

Aged just 15, Rajkovic has already made history in the Eliteserien, and his rapid rise has caught the eye of several European heavyweights. Despite the growing interest, none of his admirers appear to have gained a firm advantage in the race for his signature, with Vålerenga reportedly holding out for around €18 million.

Barcelona Lead the Chase, But Premier League Trio Close Behind

Barcelona’s scouts were present to watch Rajkovic in action against Bodø/Glimt back in August, a game in which he netted his first senior goal. Since then, he has racked up 14 league appearances and two goals in the current campaign. According to Fichajes, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are also monitoring his progress closely, though no club has yet made a concrete move.

Rewriting Norwegian Football’s Record Books

Rajkovic’s exploits are staggering for his age. His goal against Bodø/Glimt made him the second-youngest scorer in Eliteserien history, behind only Martin Ødegaard. He followed that up with a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser against Sarpsborg 08 in September.

Comparisons with Erling Haaland are inevitable given his nationality and early breakthrough, though it’s Ødegaard’s record he’s chasing rather than Haaland’s. Personally, I’d urge caution — plenty of prodigies fade before fulfilling their promise, and Rajkovic has barely scratched the surface of senior football.

A Deal Worth Watching Closely

With Vålerenga having tied him down until 2028, they hold real leverage, and competition from multiple suitors could easily push that €18 million valuation higher. What strikes me most isn’t which club eventually wins the race, but how Rajkovic copes with the spotlight now following him. At 15, there’s a long road ahead before any transfer talk becomes reality.
