Liverpool are reportedly ready to launch a record bid to land Manchester United target Arturo Vidal from Italian champions Juventus with a £42.5m offer, reports from Chilean newspaper El Mercurio.
The Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to strengthen his squad as soon as possible by spending some of the £75million that the Merseyside have accumulated from the sale of Uruguayan star Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
The reports have suggested that the Chile international is already aware of Rodgers’ interest and a move to Anfield could happen ahead of next season.
The 27-year-old midfielder, has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, who has a running contract with the Bianconeri till 2017 and reportedly earns £8.8m at Turin.
The South American would be a great addition to Liverpool ranks, who is capable of assisting his teammates in both defence and attack and it looks that the Anfield club emerge as the leading runners for Vidal’s signature, as the club have the advantage of offering Champions League football this season.
