West Ham United could make a shock move for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez this summer, reports the Daily Star.

The Mexico international, who is currently serving his loan spell for the European champion Real Madrid.

He was often used as a substitute during his tenure at Old Trafford, although, the 26 year old has not been able to establish himself at the Bernabeu, started only one La Liga game so far this season.

The report claims that Los Blancos are not interested to turn his deal into a permanent move, whilst he has got a chance of getting regular football if he returns to Premier League.

The Hammers are keeping a close eye on the striker’s situation ahead of a potential summer bid, who has 18 months left on his current contract at the Red Devils.

West Ham are currently sit eighth in the league table, and are reportedly close to signing the French midfielder Lassana Diarra on a free transfer.
